This codom Elm was reduced heavily a couple years ago, the property owner is committed to retaining it. I wanted to establish a more rigorous approach to monitor the separation of the stems, as part of the calculation to inform weight reduction pruning intervals.

This is a "crack monitor", primarily used to assess cracks in stone/concrete construction over time, modified to attach to the tree with all non-corrosive hardware.

Wanted to share after seeing a super slick gear hauling setup in Paul's two line zoom.

Been messing around with this for a number of months now as a risk mitigation measure for ground workers, I find it quite comfortable and anxiety reducing. As an indication of ease: this video is shot from my phone while I haul one handed.

The micro traxion is a compact pulley with integrated progress capture, primarily used for niche applications in rock climbing.

Felt a little sketchy as (I'm assuming) a previous climber from decades past left some strange hardware that constricted the stem about 15' below the top... I don't climb palms terribly often though, so I may have been stressed over nothing. What do you think, more experienced grass climbers? @dbtree

Fairly straightforward, except that the wood needed to be kept long, and there was some septic to watch out for. X-Ring sideline did the trick (didn't get any footage of that sadly). Wanted to share some of the branches: big enough that two arms were desired. Not over a greenhouse... But still, nice to have directional control.
